3.5. Checking for Quality of Service issues with PathPing command line

When experiencing call quality issues (i.e. choppy calls or jitter) a trace route test will help in determining the cause of the issue.

Step 1. Press on your Keyboard the Windows Key + R at the same time.

Step 2. A run window will appear. Type cmd in the Open field and then, click on OK.

Step 3. It will redirect you to the DOS window. Start the trace route by typing pathping ping.safesoftsolutions.com and then, press Enter key on your Keyboard.

What we are looking for:

A. High RTT (Round Trip Time) on the route.
This can cause echoes, choppy calls, and strange web page display behaviors among other things.

B. Packet loss on the route to each node (Source to Here) and/or packet loss on a specific node on the path.
This can cause silence on the call, call drops, etc.
